Frank Morganti is an old friend who I never met in real life. I suppose this is due to the era of internet and Social Media that this can happen. We know each other for 10 years already and often write about our shared passions like clothing, style, food, cars and so on. It is always enjoying to see Frank’s outfits coming by on Social Media which are put together with precision and passion. Frank is working in the menswear business and so he knows a lot about quality garments and fabrics but also the history of certain manufacturers and brands. It’s never a bad idea to ask Frank for advice as it will be sincere and proper. I hope to make it sometime soon to Minnesota and meet in person with Frank for dinner and for sure long and interesting discussions on the topics we share a passion for. But for now I’m honoured that he wanted to answer our ‘’17 questions to a well-dressed man’’.

What are you wearing today?

It's a casual day for me today, as I'm wearing a solid navy blazer with a nice pair of khakis with forward-facing pleats, a blue bengal striped button-down collar shirt, tan loafers with tassels, and a wool pocket square in a medallion pattern with the colors of mustard gold, navy, silver white, and light blue.

If you had to choose to spend money either on a suit or on a watch, what would you choose?

The suit. I know I would get more use out of the tailored clothing than the jewelry.

What jewellery could a man wear?

Keeping it simple is the key. A nice set of cuff links, a simple classic wrist or pocket watch, and a collar pin are nice touches to any ensemble.

Tie or a bowtie?

I have several more neckties than I do bow ties. It really depends upon the occasion and ensemble that I've chosen to wear.

Do you remember your first jacket?

Yes, it was a solid navy blazer. I was five years old when my mom got it for me.

What is your favourite watch?

My grandfather's Bulova which is a manual winding mechanism.

Fountain pen or ballpoint?

I enjoy a both, and typically use fountain for at-home use and ballpoint for out in 'the field'.

Have you found the perfect garment yet?

Not yet. But when I get the opportunity to do full bespoke I'm sure I will.

Explain your biggest passion in one sentence?

I enjoy working in the menswear industry.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Eating and drinking too well.

Who is the best dressed man in the world for you?

Cary Grant in my opinion had a style that was both elegant yet simple.

The best book you ever read?

The Great Gatsby.

Which city should one go shopping?
London, England.

Tweed or flannel?

That depends on the weather and the occasion.

The most elegant restaurant in the world for you?

Too many to name, and sadly so many are gone. My favorite restaurant happens to be in White Bear Lake, Minnesota and is called Acqua Restaurant they have a wonderful selection on their menu and it's just a pleasant place to enjoy a meal with a wonderful lake view.

Describe your style in three words?

Classic and meaningful.

Best purchase you did in the last 6 months?

A Robert Jensen tie from Hubert White in Minneapolis.
